|Upcoming Sponsored Silence Events

begin at 2pm)
Dayton Children’s Rehabilitative Services Department is working with Wright
State University to host a Sponsored Silence event on Saturday, January 30th at
the 2pm basketball game.
The purpose of the event is to increase awareness of
communication disorders (specifically AAC) and raise money support speech
- The event will start off with Sara Pyska singing the national
anthem using her AAC device (Sara is a senior at Wright State University
majoring in Rehabilitative Services).
- The event will highlight several children
in the Dayton area who use AAC devices and will also have a segment where the
mascots from WSU and Dayton Children’s communicate using the devices.
- We will
have devices available at a table near the Kids Zone so we can demonstrate them
to families and their children during the game.
tickets for the event will go on sale through Dayton Children’s in the
coming months. Ticket price is $10.00 with a portion of the
proceeds going to the Speech Therapy Department at Dayton
