Event Host:

Dayton Children’s Rehabilitative Services Department is working with Wright State University to host a Sponsored Silence event on Saturday, January 30th at the 2pm basketball game.

Event Focus:

The purpose of the event is to increase awareness of communication disorders (specifically AAC) and raise money support speech therapy services.

Event Hilights:
  • The event will start off with Sara Pyska singing the national anthem using her AAC device (Sara is a senior at Wright State University majoring in Rehabilitative Services).
  • The event will highlight several children in the Dayton area who use AAC devices and will also have a segment where the mascots from WSU and Dayton Children’s communicate using the devices.
  • We will have devices available at a table near the Kids Zone so we can demonstrate them to families and their children during the game.
Ticket Information:

Discount tickets for the event will go on sale through Dayton Children’s in the coming months.  Ticket price is $10.00 with a portion of the proceeds going to the Speech Therapy Department at Dayton Children's.
