Outstanding Legislator Award Recipients

This award, given by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Governmental Affairs Coalition (OSHGAC) recognizes an Ohio Legislator for contributions which have or will affect our profession in the area of communicative disorders. This legislator's work will have far-reaching effects in a positive manner to not only the speech and hearing impaired but also the general public.

OSHGAC Announces 2016 Legislator of the Year Recipient

    The Ohio Speech and Hearing Governmental Affairs Coalition (OSHGAC) is pleased to announce that Representative Tim Brown (3rd District) was chosen as the 2016 OSHGAC Legislator of the Year.  This award, given annually by the OSHGAC, recognizes an Ohio Legislator for contributions that have or will affect the professions of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.  As a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, Representative Brown was supportive of issues affecting our professions and the consumers we serve. We honor him for his work on HB 98, which names May 14th as Childhood Apraxia of Speech Awareness Day in Ohio. Representative Brown was presented with this most deserving award by Jill Kramer, Chair of the OSHGAC Legislative Reception at the event on April 5, 2016 in the State House Atrium.
